Hey everybody, sorry that it’s been a while.
Anyway, so I’ve been thinking of goals and dreams recently. There seems to be no end to what people want, is there? And sometimes, we wish and dream of the impossible.
Or is it impossible?
You could want to be a singer, or a writer, or a movie maker. How do you do this?
Well, you can’t go to sleep one night and hope that the next you’ll wake up and be that famous person you want to be, where everyone wants your autograph and a selfie with you. As much as we dream and wish, it doesn’t work that way. Sorry, guys.
But there are ways to get there. Obviously, other people that are famous singers, writers, movie makers or whatever else got there somehow. But like us, they didn’t just become them overnight. It probably took many steps, smaller steps.
As much as we’d love to run forward in leaps and bounds toward our goal or dream, sometimes we just need to settle for baby steps. Tiny steps. Small things that we do to get to our goal. To become that author, start by just writing. That’s what I do. I want to become an author, and have for years. When I was little, I used to write stories about my toys, or just make up them. Now, I love to write my own books. I let my friends read them, and they like them, so maybe there’s hope for me. 😛
I’m still not a world famous author. But do you think J.K. Rowling started out as a world famous author that had people waiting eagerly for the first Harry Potter book? No. In fact, I’m pretty sure she spent a year outlining the books. If I’m wrong, sorry, but for now let’s pretend I’m right, and I’ll elaborate on that. 😄
For a year, that woman worked at a something that nobody knew or cared about. But then, she wrote those books, and everybody loved them. She became a world famous author, and it all started from one idea.
Just because we can’t immediately have or be what we want, it doesn’t mean it won’t happen eventually. There’s self publishing out there. So if I ever do get a book published, I’ll tell you guys. 🙂
My point here, is that you don’t need to worry about whether or not you’re setting your sights too high. You could totally dream of being that Olympic gymnast, and start by convincing your parents to let you learn gymnastics. Or maybe even just try to do flips on a trampoline.
You all have your dreams. You all have your wishes. You all have your goals. And no dream is too big. 🙂
